East Java NU to launch TV-9 next month
SURABAYA: The executive boards of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU)'s East Java chapter will launch a television station, TV-9, that will start its on-air activities next month, an NU executive said Sunday.
"We initially planned to start operations this month, but something needs to be corrected so we will postpone it until next month," East Java NU chairman Hasan Mutawakkil said as quoted by Antara news agency.
Hasan said his organization had secured licenses from the Indonesian Commission of Broadcasting's (KPI) central office and East Java chapter but corrections were required for some of the licenses' phrases.
"One thing for sure is that TV-9 is a transfer channel of the Pasuruan-based TV-Pas that is moved to the East Java NU headquarters on Jl. Raya Darmo 96, Surabaya."
For the initial stage, the broadcast will be available in Surabaya, Sidoarjo, Pasuruan, Gresik, Lamongan, Tuban, Bangkalan, Jombang, Mojokerto and Malang. - JP/The Jakarta Post
